Brain gym

It is hard for children to concentrate for long periods of time without some sort of break. At Bailey's Court we recognise this fact and incorporate breaks into lessons.

  • These might simply consist of a change of position (from the carpet to a desk for example) or a move to a different area (outside or a different room).
  • This is, however, not always convenient and often a short activity of a very different nature to the main task will be carried out. These will often be physical as well as involving different types of thinking, and they are known as Brain Gym.

Even as adults, with far longer attention spans, we still need these breaks and I'm sure you will be able to see that tea breaks, quick chats with collegues, etc are our way of getting them.
